We grouped 237 pitches by the amount of money the founder asked for, in Egyptian pounds. The deal rate falls steadily as the ask grows. Asks of EGP 1M or less closed 94% of the time. Asks of EGP 1–2M closed 85%, EGP 2–5M 71% and EGP 5–10M 62%. Above EGP 10M, fewer than half closed: 47%.

Read this as a pattern, not a price list. Bigger asks usually come from bigger companies with bigger valuations, and those are harder to agree on. The amount alone does not decide the result. Correlation, not cause.

What to do: ask for the money you need for the next stage, and be ready to show what each pound buys. If your ask is large, expect the conversation to turn to the valuation behind it.

The valuation makes it impossible to even discuss it. I wish you the best of luck, and I'm out.

I don't see how I can help you, and I also have reservations about the valuation. Good luck, I'm out.

Concern

Your valuation is way too high; today you're asking for a valuation of around 60 million EGP.
